Friday 2/1 “GOOD TO MEET YOU.” - Opening reception at 7 pm. Being new to the neighborhood, we’d like to introduce ourselves by having our first show be about the people, businesses and history of the 800-900 block of East Johnson. Our idea is to choose artwork, objects, stories, or photographs from various businesses to display. Music to be performed by Christopher Buckingham and The Attack Ponies.
Friday 2/8 “Brief Division” by Timothy Speaker & Melanie Kehoss, Featuring music by When the Wolf Occurs (donation) - Opening Reception: 7 pm. ‘Brief Division’ features recent works by Kehoss and Speaker, both '07 graduates of Madison's MFA program. Speaker's digitally distorted photographs highlight the gritty beauty of fading vision, while Kehoss' paintings and shadowboxes distill human encounters into bright color and pattern. The eclectic music of ‘When the Wolf Occurs’ reflects the respective moodiness and exuberance of these two artists, alternating between dark ballads and funky instrumentals. Admission is free (donations for the band accepted) and refreshments will be served.
